View larger. | Benefits of the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper System With the Mini Co-Sleeper Bassinet, adults can sleep comfortably with baby only an arm's length away. This allows new mothers to breast feed during the night without getting up. It also lets parents more easily comfort and reassure a restless child during the night. Sleeping near their infant allows parents increased bonding time during the early stages of baby's development. As an added benefit, using a Co-Sleeper system allows the new mother additional time to rest and recover by letting her care for baby from the comfort of her own bed. The Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper system is recommended by leading pediatricians and sleep research experts Dr. James J. McKenna Ph. D and Dr. William Sears as a way for parents to connect with their infants. With the Co-Sleeper Bassinet, you can say good-bye to those middle-of-the-night walks to baby's room for feeding. Essentil for Co-Sleeping Families September 3, 2010 Jeena Jarvis (Illinois) We wanted to co-sleep with our baby, but knew would sometimes not want her in our bed. This co-sleeper is a nice compromise between a separate crib/bassinet and always having the baby in your bed. It is so easy to reach over to soothe her, talk to her, or pick her up and bring her into bed or vice versa. It also gives baby some practice sleeping on her own before we move her to a crib.
Great for a new mother September 2, 2010 B. Davis (Beautiful Northwest USA) I recently purchased this for my daughter's new nursing baby. It is perfect for placing beside the master bed. Mother can sleep comfortably while baby is sleeping close beside her. My daughter mentioned today how much she appreciates it and how convenient it is for her and her baby boy.
Terrible! July 15, 2010 Lynn A. (West Grove, PA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a six month old baby and have limited free time, but found myself compelled to review this product. I was so excited to get it, then was quickly disappointed when I realized how poor the mattress was, creased and uneven(where it folds for portability) and only a thin inch or so of foam. It was also a pain to set up because you have to lift your mattress to get the straps underneath to secure it. Anyway I decided to keep it, a light baby wouldn't mind, I thought... big mistake. It didn't help after c-section because it was difficult to bend down to get baby out, and messed up my wrist and caused me pain in my incision area. I would have been better off just getting out of bed, which I might add is made exceedingly difficult with this in the way! My baby was 9 lbs, not overly large but he HATED this from day one. Out of desperation, I took to the dangerous practice of letting him sleep in the bed because he wouldn't sleep for more than an hour or so in it. Anyway, I quickly came to my senses and ordered the First Years Safe and Secure Sleeper and he loved it! Finally I got some rest. He grew out of the safe and secure sleeper and once again I tried to use the co-sleeper bassinet... with no better luck. So I bought a wonderful natural rubber non toxic mattress from Lifekind, inc. and set up his crib in my room, now he is close by and, FINALLY, sleeping like a baby!
This product, while better than having baby away in another room all alone is really only useful for travel, a sort of small pack and play, of questionable sturdiness. I strongly warn against relying on it for anything else! In my case since I didn't travel with him, it was nothing but frustration and a total waste of good money! Maybe the regular size one is better I don't know but don't get the mini!
Great, especially when breastfeeding every few hours May 9, 2010 J.P (Chicago, IL) We loved our Arm's Reach Mini Co-sleeper. We used it for 6 months with our first child. I was able to have it right next to the bed in the beginning. I could roll over and breast feed. It was so helpful especially when we first brought her home while I was still recovering. I did not have to get out of bed! We used it very often for naps. It is easy to roll into other rooms and has convenient storage underneath. We are now expecting twins and purchased another co-sleeper so we would have one for each baby! It is very inexpensive and well worth the money. It may look sort of plain, but we always dressed it up with a cute receiving blanket tucked in tightly.
GREAT FOR BREASTFEEDING February 8, 2010 Rocio Lopez Contreras (Monterrey, Mexico) I decided to purchase the co-slepper since the crib didn't fit in my bedroom; I am so happy, my baby is 5 months old and the breastfeeding is so confortable, I have it next to me, so in the night I just take him, feed him and putting back, it's great. The co-sleeper is good quality, easy to clean, easy to move, allows you to have your baby next to you but at the same time you still keep your own space. I totally recommend this for those mother who will breastfeed their babies.
