5 out of 5 stars Wonderful potty training help   October 22, 2008
Once I finally got serious about potty training I realized the basic logistical issues I was dealing with.

I started with pampers pull-ups which I loved at the time. They were great for teaching my son how to pull up and down his underwear. That's all I was concentrating on, and the product worked well. Very comfortable, no leaking. They are very close to cloth-like underwear.

Then I got serious about potty training and my needs changed. I wasn't worried about leaks and comfort as much as I was with ease of use.

Huggies are easy to pull up and down, and are fairly absorbant as diapers, though not extremely so (not as much as the pampers). They are a little scratchier than the pampers, though my son doesn't seem to care. The open and close tabs on the sides are very useful. I would think we had a poop accident and lay my son down, and open up the sides, and realize that he just smelled like he'd pooped. It was nice not to waste the clean diaper. In addition, when he did accidentally poop, I was able to lay him down on his back and wipe him up, and the easy access sides were great then as well.

I didn't really need the cool alert feature at this point, and we moved straight into underwear, EXCEPT

Using the potty in the middle of the night. I don't know about you, but I have a hard time waking up and racing my son into the potty to get him to go in the nick of time. The cool alert wakes him up just enough to go running to the bathroom and give me time to groggily head over there. I expect he'll be in this "nighttime" underwear as we call it for another month or two, only because he still forgets once every couple of weeks or so, and I'd rather deal with a diaper than clean the sheets in the middle of the night.

As for the disappearing images... he never noticed and neither did I. That feature may be useful for other people, but not for us.

5 out of 5 stars great pull-us   October 4, 2008
Huggies Pull-Ups Night*Time Pants, Size 3T-4T Boy, Four - 24 Count Jumbo Packs (96 Training Pants)
These are great for the nearly potty-trained to wear at night. They can go with ease (pull down and up as easy as underwear) if they are awake and it's easy if they have an accident. (beats the old days when you had to change the bed.

4 out of 5 stars Good fit, best option out there   June 18, 2008
This is another product we've gone through the ringer testing other brands, only to come back to this one.

They are very streamlined and fit well under clothes. Only complaint is they will occasionally shift and cause a bit of a leak. Not really any fault of the diaper itself so far as I can see, and it has happened with other brands too. Of course, being pullups, they are not nearly as absorbant as diapers. We use these during the day and regular diapers at night for 3 year old DS.

The subscribe and save price here is fair, sometimes you can find them a bit cheaper with coupons. But to have them delivered right to our door is worth the small up charge.

4 out of 5 stars Helped us with Pottty Training   May 15, 2008

I have always wondered what the difference between pullups and diapers were beside just being able to be pulled up. Cool Alert Pull-Ups from Huggies also have an ingredient that gives them the sensation of coolness when wet. These Cool Alert Pull Ups really did assist us in potty training because the cool alert makes him feel uncomfortable and he starting holding his potty. He was even waking up dry in the mornings. As soon as I put a regular diaper back on him, he went back to using his diaper. We will be ordering more of these. They differ from the package shown, they come with the CARS movie characters on them, which my son loves and makes him want to wear them.

3 out of 5 stars Cool enough, just not motivating enough   April 28, 2008
From the advertising on this particular product, I assumed the wetness liner was suppose to make the toddler uncomfortable enough to realize that he/she was wet and to learn to prevent "wetness". At one point, i did check and it did feel cool to the touch as it was wet. However, my daughters (twins) didn't mind the coolness and it wasn't effective as I originally thought it to be. Huggies and Pampers both have similar diapers, so if I were to purchase these again, I would compare prices and go with the cheaper ones. There's no need to buy these if they are more expensive. As for leakage and lining, both Huggies and Pampers are about the same. One doesn't hold up significantly better than the other. One real advantage of Huggies tho, is their velcro lining. My girls are thinner than the average baby, so it helps to be able to adjust the pull ups a little even tho the banding is stretchable.
