Product Description
This whimsical and hilarious book, featuring nontraditional texts and some of the author's famous animal characters, has been printed on thick board pages, and is sure to educate and entertain children of all ages. Author: Sandra Boynton Illustrator: Sandra BoyntonPublisher: Simon & Schuster

Amazon.com Review
For a little one who is reluctant to go to bed, sometimes a silly book is just the ticket. And when it comes to silly books, Sandra Boynton is the undisputed queen. In The Going to Bed Book, an ark full of animals watches the sun go down and then prepares for bed. They take a bath ("in one big tub"), find pajamas, brush their teeth, do exercises up on deck (imagine an elephant jumping rope, a moose lifting weights, and a pig doing handstands), and finally say good night.
The moon is high. The sea is deep.
They rock
and rock
and rock
to sleep.
Boynton's inimitable animal characters have graced the pages of scads of picture books over the years. She has an extraordinary knack for knowing what appeals to small children: simple rhymes, goofy animals in goofy settings, and sweet, comforting stories. This book, along with her many other board-book titles (Moo, Baa, La La La!, But Not the Hippopotamus, and others) will surely remain a favorite. (Baby to preschool) --Emilie Coulter

4 out of 5 stars Works Out   July 29, 2010
L. Montgomery (USA)
I got this primarily for our 20mo old. She's got ever-changing tastes, but did show interest. Our 3yo will stand by and pay attention while it is read, but (much like myself) cannot wrap her head around working out before bedtime, lol!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect bedtime book!   June 5, 2010
A. BACKER (Madison, WI)
We read this book to our 3 month old each night and it gets her attention. She loves looking at the animals and listening to the rhyme. It's short and sweet. The perfect length for a little one. I find it hilarious that the animals get ready for bed, then they exercise! Ha! We read this along with Goodnight Moon each night and it is such a nice ending to the day. Even if our daughter has been fussing she quiets down when we pull out this book.

5 out of 5 stars A great book to end the day!   June 5, 2010
E. Kroll (Grand Rapids, MI)
I LOVE this book. At first it was just a fun book to read before bed and then it became a bedtime staple in our house. As soon as my 11 month old see's the book she knows its time for bed. We read it every night and I have it memorized to read to her when the book is MIA. The last page says "The moon is high and the sea is deep and they rock and they rock and they rock to sleep, and I always rock her to sleep and put her in bed. A great way to end the night!

5 out of 5 stars our favorite Boynton   June 4, 2010
SD Mom (San Diego)
My daughter has loved the Boynton books since she was a baby (she's 4 now) - but I think this one is probably still her favorite. This is a great bedtime book that's fun to read and puts the kids in the mood for bed (if that's possible). We still read this one when we're short on time before bed. Must have for a little one!
