Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
The thinking's not fuzzy in these board books, but the animals certainly are. Sandra Boynton's familiar furry creatures introduce simple concepts in this bright collection of four books, replete with clever line drawings. In Horns and Toes and In Between, three horned monsters teach the parts of the body in rhyme: "...and we have a fuzzy TUMMY that we all like to pat / and a little BELLY BUTTON in the middle of that." The Going to Bed Book gets a Noah's Ark of animals organized for bed: "They hang their towels on the wall / and find pajamas, big and small." Opposites is just that: cute animals "high and low / fast and slow / heavy and light / day and night." In the rhyming reader But Not the Hippopotamus, a hippo finds himself on the outs as "a cat and two rats are trying on hats. / But not the hippopotamus. / A moose and a goose together have juice. / But not the hippopotamus." Rest assured the hippo finds love at the end. (Baby to preschool) --Claire Dederer

1 out of 5 stars Not as good   January 7, 2009
We have bought many of the Boynton books so I had no doubts that I wanted to get our almost two year old another set for Christmas. These were not as cute and catchy as the others we have. She did not sit through these like she does the others or even ask for us to read them again and again like she normally does. For a great book read "Pajama time" or "belly Button" Or "Snuggle Puppy" I do still plan to buy more of her books but I wish these had been a better.

I like that there are 4 books together, they were for my grandson, he loves them all.

5 out of 5 stars Great Value!   December 10, 2008
This is a great start for any young child's book collection. I've been reading Boynton to my daughter since she was an infant. She is now 2 and still loves them and "reads" them back to me. I purchased this set for $15 here on Amazon. Individual retail value would be $24+. This is a steal.

5 out of 5 stars Absolutelly wonderful   December 4, 2008
My one and a half year old daughter loves them.

She first got "The going to bed book" as a gift from her aunt living in the States and even though we are not english native speakers, she keeps wanting me to read it again and again and again...

I decided to buy more SB's book and she seems to love them all... maybe that was one of the best purchases I got through Amazon...

5 out of 5 stars Adorable Books   December 3, 2008
We love the Boynton books. We've been reading them to our little one since before he was born. The pictures are great and the text is cute. Fun to read!
