Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Mercer Mayer's very popular Little Critter stars in a picture book about feeling angry. With minimal text and funny illustrations to spell out every new situation, the book shows the Critter family saying no to everything Little Critter wants to do. He can't keep frogs in the tub. He can't help paint the house. Finally, mad at the world, Little Critter announces he will run away. When pals come by and ask him to come and play baseball, our young hero's mood quickly changes. He grabs his bat and heads off for the game, telling himself he can run away another day if he is still so mad.

5 out of 5 stars Great book!   December 23, 2008
Great book! We used to read it to our kids all the time, and now we're buying it for others!

4 out of 5 stars Realistic portrayal of anger   September 1, 2008
We have a lot of Little Critter books in this house. They're short, they're funny, they're topical, and they're cheap.

This book is a very realistic portrayal of how frustration and anger can build up in a person, especially a child, and how they can keep you from wanting to do *anything*. My nieces really relate to this book.

And there's even a realistically happy ending.

5 out of 5 stars book review   November 28, 2007
My 2 year old son loves this book. We read it over and over. This book is laid out for toddlers to follow easily. Simple, catchy phrases and great illustration. We have another Mercer Mayer Little Critter book that he likes a lot as well so we plan to purchase more for Christmas!

5 out of 5 stars For a 3-year-old or a 20-year-old   July 16, 2007

I purchased this book for my grandnephew that is 3 years old and has a very quick little temper. My son who is now 20 grew up with Mercer Mayer books and he enjoyed reading this short story too. The next thing I knew I was looking through boxes for all of his old books from childhood. Mercer Mayer clicks with kids.

5 out of 5 stars Mercer Mayer is a Genius   April 9, 2007

He writes so that kids and parents both get it. His irony is hillarious and the kids totally enjoy that their feelings are portrayed. LOVE it.
