If your baby is going to put it in his/her mouth, the paint would start coming off. I caught my 10 months old daughter putting it in her mouth and i saw paint coming off

a fantastic toy. Durable, bright interesting colors. Unlike other stackers this one has spindles that are of even width from top to bottom so that my toddler can stack all sizes all the time (not if she stacks smallest first she should get stuck) It keeps her busy for hours at a time
