As any parent of babies knows, sleep is a precious, precious commodity. Scores of books and articles have been written on the subject, and one of the first questions any parent will hear, after "How cute! How old? Boy or girl?" is, "Does she sleep through the night?" Babies aren't designed to sleep through the night in their early months, but eventually, they can sleep for longer blocks of time. And this is when parents will do just about anything to lengthen those snooze hours. The Sleep Sheep might just be the most effective sleep aid in a parent's tool belt. It sure is the cutest! Standing (or rather, sitting) just 11 inches tall, this cuddly lamb can be attached with Velcro strips to baby's crib. Tucked in its back is an audio box with four soothing sounds from nature: a heartbeat, a spring rainfall, the ocean, and whale songs. Push a button, adjust the volume, and sneak out of the nursery while the Sleep Sheep does its job, playing a full 23 minutes of snooze-inducing sound. Did you catch that?  Cute and Cuddly, but sounds are less than ideal. July 29, 2010

I love the way this product looks and feels. It's much larger than I expected, too. I also like that the sound box is removable so it can be washed easily.
My complaint is that the "heart beat" noise sounds like someone hitting a metal shed with a stick; the "whale sounds" noise is just plain creepy, and the "rain" noise sounds like frying bacon. The only noise that sounds like it should (and the only one we use) is the ocean wave noise; which is rather relaxing.

If you are a new parent, you simply need the Sleep Sheep. It is the only way my 3rd child would sleep by himself during the 1st year. He is a great sleeper now at 2.5 without the Sleep Sheep - which is good because my 4th child uses it. Really, a must have!

We received the Sleep Sheep as a gift and our son loves it! We've had it now for at least 6 months and the batteries are still going strong, despite using it for his two daily naps and at bedtime. The lamb itself is very soft and cuddly and our son particularly enjoys the 'rain' sounds. We bring this lamb with us everywhere for the soothing white noise. You can choose between either the 23 minute or 45 minute setting and the volume adjusts via dial. There is a velcro strap so you can affix the lamb to pretty much anything. I'd recommend this sweet nursery addition to anyone expecting a little one...I plan to give it as a shower gift to a friend later this month!

I purchased this for my baby daughter to help with putting her to sleep. I HOPED that this would work. I had no luck with this and at times seemed to irritate her more than soothe her. Don't get me wrong works well and I've had no problems with the product just that this JUST DID NOT WORK FOR HER. Basically it was a shot in the dark when purchasing because you never know if something like this will help or hinder! Either way i now have an addition to my older daughter PILE of stuffed animals! After all is said and done if this is something your child responds to then this may work for you. GOOD LUCK!
