Product Description CARES Kids Fly Safe aviation restraint is designed specifically for aviation use for children age 1 and older who weigh between 22 and 44 pounds. These youngsters are old enough to be in their own seats, but are too small for the seat belt alone to protect them. Their bodies cannot withstand the jolts that are common in routine transportation, much less emergency situations, and they flail forward or slide beneath the seat belt if they are not held securely in place.
Each year more and more young children fly. But until CARES Kids Fly Safe aviation restraint came along, what was missing was a convenient, hassle-free way to keep young flyers safe. Here's what makes CARES such an invaluable travel solution:
CARES Kids Fly Safe aviation restraint is the first and only aviation Child Safety Device to be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as an alternative to a car seat.
CARES Kids Fly Safe aviation restraint is an elegantly designed belt-and-buckle device that works in conjunction with the regular airplane seat belt and provides young travelers the same level of safety as a car seat.
CARES Kids Fly Safe aviation restraint weighs just one pound and fits into a 6" stuff sack! It is easily portable, simple to install, adjustable to nearly every size airplane seat, and usable on any seat in the airplane, except in the emergency exit rows.
Need your car seat on the other end of the trip? Just check it through as luggage and carry CARES Kids Fly Safe aviation restraint on board in your pocket!
CARES is manufactured exclusively by AmSafe Aviation, the foremost manufacturer of aviation seatbelts and pilot restraints in the world. (Turn over your airplane seat belt buckle. Chances are it says AmSafe.)
CARES is made of the same industrial-strength webbing as your own seat belt and is engineered to the highest aviation-safety standards.
INCLUDES: Restraint, instruction card, instruction video on DVD, and travel bag.

CARES Child Restraint July 25, 2010 jta1422 Easily installed and un-installed. Comfortable for the "little guy" to sit in and easily carried around the airport.
Great Product July 18, 2010 lommoh8 I bought this because my mom was flying alone with my 2 yr old and I wanted to make it as easy as possible for her, but still keep my child safe. She said it was really easy to install and kept him in his seat and safe!!! Can't wait to fly with him to see for myself how great it is. When I went to pick him up from the airport, I saw several other parents carrying carseats and was so thankful that we didn't have to do that!!
works well but read this TIP July 16, 2010 JH (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We just used this for a flight with our almost 2 year old, 29 lbs, at least 33 inches tall.
It worked well, but there was one issue. Our son kept sliding down in the seat, to almost a reclining position because the airplane seat was that slippery leather. I kept having to slide him back up. I had the belt tight enough, too. Next time I will bring a small piece of that rubbery kitchen shelf liner (for padding under dishes, etc) so he won't slip down. We've used that liner so he doesn't slide in his baby swing or stroller, as well.
This was very easy to install, although the flight attendant did not want him in it for take off and landing. I didn't push it, maybe if I had shown him it would have been fine. Also, it could have been because my son was younger than 2 (he'll be 2 in a couple of weeks.)
Bottom line, I would recommend this with the addition of a non-slip pad under your little one.
One more thing, I was very careful not to show my son how to unlock his regular airplane seatbelt so he wouldn't do it himself. Be aware that if your child knows how to do this, it will be difficult to keep them in the CARES system.
Great product July 12, 2010 FK (MI, USA) This product is great. My son is 3 and skinny and the normal seat belt would not hold him. The CARES seat belt is easy to install and really keeps him in his seat. I can highly recommend this device.
havent used yet but very much looking forward to it! July 10, 2010 mom of 1 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
the item arrived very quickly and without having to pay for extra fast shipping. we have yet to use it yet, but it looks like just the thing we'll need to keep our 18 month old happy on the airplane in his own seat for the first time! and the best part is that this is the ONLY FAA approved airplane seat device that is approved for take off and landing, and it is SO tiny and light weight, unlike carrying your own big car seat with you!
