crib tent August 19, 2008 great idea. ties that anchor the tent to the head and foot of the bed are very cheaply connected to the material. Most have torn for me with little effort, making them useless, but hopefully not dangerous. Could easily be better reinforced, similar to the way they are connected to the side rails.
A must have! June 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this tent when my daughter started climbing out of her crib at 18 months - which created a safety hazard AND sleep issues. Installing this tent was a lifesaver! Not only did it prevent baby from getting hurt - but it stopped the sleep issues cold turkey. She's just turned 2 and we will continue to use it until she's ready for a big girl bed - which will hopefully be a while!
This tent is easy to take down and travel w/ - but after a handful of times, I bought additional ones for grandma's house. It's a must have!
GREAT! April 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I put this in my son's crib early so that by the time he became aware that it was even there, it was already considered part of the crib. I have never had to worry about my son climbing out and since he loves to kick the sides of his crib before he falls asleep and when he wakes up, its nice to know he won't get anything stuck in between the slats of the crib either. Another positive--when so many cribs were being recalled because the drop-side would come apart and children were getting stuck and seriously injured--because this tent goes inside the crib, it is virtually impossible for something like this to happen. My sister's daughter eventually figured out how to wiggle her fingers through to the zipper, but by then she was ready for the big-girl bed anyway. My son hasn't even attempted to get out of it (he's 19 months)--he's so used to it--and even if he did, it is VERY tough to get to the zipper from the inside when it is closed. Well worth the money (even though I am still shocked at the price...) Great product, would recommend to anyone who needs the peace of mind. I paired this with the Breathable Bumpers and I next worried about my son at night.
Un-rateable because I didn't use it March 26, 2008 0 out of 11 found this review helpful
Actually, I never even opened the box it came in, because my grand child ended up not coming for a visit, and now he doesn't even use the "crib tent" at home. I'm not happy with the fact that I was told I could not return this item. It's still in the original mailing box, never to be opened, and I'd like to return this for credit to my account.
Great deterrent for curious kitties February 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
So far so good, as the cats have inspected the installation for security flaws and have found none. Generally, the flexible mesh is not something they feel comfortable putting any weight on. The one time our 14 pounder got curious enough to climb onto the tent, his weight was held up just fine.
Overall, I think the design is good given the side panels that eliminate a potential access point and the ability to mount the tent without damaging the crib. It doesn't affect drop-side operation and can easily be strapped around a Leachco teething cover.
We had to specifically purchase a simpler crib (the Sorelle Rosa) to make sure we'd have the option of using a tent like this, and the tent means that mobiles can't be mounted. However, we have no intention of keeping the baby in the crib except for sleep time (i.e. we are not going to stimulate her in there anyways) and the musical part of a mobile we received can still be mounted on its own.
As a side note, you might want to consider using something like the Ultimate Crib Sheet since having a tent to contend with makes already difficult sheet changes even more challenging!
