Great Space Saver February 10, 2008

Actually we bought this desk twice. In our old house we HAD to get a coner desk and my husband loved it so much, we bought it again, this time for the both of us. We have a 10x10 office and we need our own space. These were great- we have them back to back heading out from the wall instead of in the corners. My tower is too bulky for the cabinet, so we removed the door and it still looks nice.
The only cons with these desks, is #1 they do not move. Once they are together they are staying in the room. You can move it to clean, but not bring them, let's say, upstairs. #2 con, don't get it wet! It is made of paper so use a coaster or your top coat will melt away. Also, don't use tape or any repetative scraping...that also takes off the paper coat. All in all, great desk lots of space and a perfect fit.

For disposable furniture this is a wonderful desk. As long you don't have to move it (house move) then it should last a long time. As with all compressed wood furniture it can not be moved without breaking it.
I am very happy with it and would buy it again. Assembly price was more then a few hours, but I was by myself and was preoccupied doing this among other things.

The only problem with ordering this desk is having it shipped. You will be very lucky to get it without any damage during shipping. My order had to be resent twice which is the maximum number of times Amazon allows, and then I had to contact the manufactuer to have the broken pieces delevered by truck. I ended up waiting over a month to finally get everything!!!

I enjoyed putting this desk together but I will say it's not for everybody. There are about 30 pieces of wood and when you count all the hardware there must be 200 pieces to assemble. In total it probably took about ten hours to assemble including a trip to the hardware store to replace a screw that was defective and could not be used. Now that the assembly is done, I'm pretty happy with the desk, it looks pretty good, seems functional and for the size of it the price was right. But beware if you're looking for quick and easy assembly, this is not it!

I purchased this desk from Office Max for $150.00, it is only okay. The wood is not good quality, one of the drawers and a couple of of the screws did not line up completely. Takes a long time to put together and they did not give ANY extra screws at all. On the plus side the desktop is large with lots of space and the desk is sturdy once completed. The shelf for the printer is large also and was big enough for my color laser all-in-one printer.
