1 out of 5 stars Not a good purchase   March 21, 2008
We thought that this was going to be a very cool product for helping us achieve the perfect bath temperature. We were wrong. It worked for the first two baths that we gave our daughter. After that it would give crazy readings. Now it always says that the temperature is between 180 and 200 degrees. This is not possible. Especially when the water is cold. We wrote to the company and they said that they would replace it, but it is not worth it. We use our arms or one of those cheap rubber ducks with HOT written on the bottom to gauge the temperature of the water. Do not buy this. You don't really need it, and you will be disappointed.

3 out of 5 stars Great--when it worked   February 26, 2008

I used this thermometer for my baby's first three months and it worked wonderfully. It fit nicely over my standard bath spout and it was truly helpful to see the temperature of the water BEFORE it filled the tub. The color display was easy to see and it allowed me to quickly change the temp of the water before it became too hot or cold. I also loved being able to fill up my rinse cup with the correct water temperature. I know this doesn't sound like such a huge deal but the water temp in my bathroom has a tiny "sweet spot" and it's either way too hot or freezing depending on a fraction of an inch on the faucet handle. Anyway, this product was a blessing to have until it just stopped working after about 3 months of use. One day it just failed to turn on and even after changing the batteries (and trying several sets of new batteries) it just never came back. I don't know if it got water inside the unit or what...I think that the idea of this product is exceptional, I just wonder if the execution isn't quite there yet. I will be switching to the old-fashioned rubbery ducky thermometer as I'm not shelling out another $30 for one of these.

2 out of 5 stars Not worth the money,...   February 1, 2008

I registered for this item, it seemed like such a great idea as a first time mom. I knew I would need a spout cover at some point, so I thought I'd go for this item and get the built in water thermometer, too. For starters, it did not really fit on my STANDARD spout and it was sort of a pain to attach! While it did show me what I believe to be an accurate read of the water temperature, I felt like I wasted so much water trying to get it exactly in the green zone - the thermostat very quickly goes up and down! I returned mine. My friends who are seasoned moms were right, I could easily gauge the water temp with my hand/arm. Save your pennies and if you want a spout cover, buy one of the very inexpensive inflatable or foam ones. If you want a thermometer, buy one of the inexpensive rubber ducks that have one built in.
