Well Worth the Price October 14, 2008 I bought this for my sister-in-law while she was pregnant with my niece. She loves to journal and it was her first child. I knew she would want to keep a journal of her experience for her own and maybe to show it to my niece when she gets older.
She LOVED it!
My cousin-in-law saw it when I got it and she already put in a request for one when she becomes pregnant.
This is a well thought out, well organized journal that should be given to all mothers-to-be. They will enjoy writing down the steps of this magnificent journey and will treasure it for years to come.
A classy, beautiful, and relatively complete pregnancy journal. October 13, 2008 Ever since I discovered I was pregnant with my first child, I searched intensely for the perfect pregnancy journal that was sophisticated and complete in its documentary components. Tummy Talk has 5 components: 1) pregnancy stories (times & dates of pregnancy tests, how you announced your pregnancy, first signs of pregnancy) 2) mommy's check-ups 3) 40 weeks of weekly journaling 4) baby shower information 5) labor details. A lot of the other books I looked at had information on your baby's weekly development, but in reading each journal's reviews, various people disagreed with the accuracy of the developmental information in those journals so I steered-away from that type of journal. Some of the journals out there also focus too much on the author's personal pregnancy experience, so Tummy Talk is nice in that you can just write about your OWN pregnancy and individualize the journal. If you want to know your baby's developmental milestones, then get a separate pregnancy BOOK with your Tummy Talk journal, or paste a print-out of some of the on-line week-by-week developmental information (like babycenter.com's week-by-week developments). For the journaling part, you can record your weight-gain and waist measurements. Tummy Talk's pages are also hard and sturdy. I like that. Though Tummy Talk is one of the more expensive journals, it IS a keepsake item that will be kept for generations, right? The pewter binding seems very sturdy, also. I am very proud to own Tummy Talk. It is a beautiful pregnancy journal, and I would also be proud to give it as a gift to any pregnant mom.
Best for value! October 6, 2008 Loved this journal!! Lots of sections to write everything that happens during your PG adventure. I'm a first time Mom & I LOVED this, I had a great time filling in all the pages with stories about our family, adventures during doctor's visits & family-oriented activities while our little-one was growing in the womb. I turned my son's book into a mini-version of a scrapbook, complete with pictures & stickers, etc. This book/journal was more complete than any other PG journal that I could find. I also loved the soft front & the little crystal. I'll be ordering one for each of my children, as I think it's important to document all the stuff that was happening while they were growing inside me. When they are older they can share this time-piece with their family & their little ones.
