Thomas January 6, 2009 Good product. Sometimes stop working but It is just a matter of "position". If you move the "machine" it will be working again. For the price is a good buy.
LOVE IT! January 6, 2009 I researched several humidifiers before deciding on this one and I'm so glad I did. I was so frustrated with the others I had as they were so loud and buying new filters every few weeks was ridiculous! These Crane's (I ended up buying two more after I was so pleased with the first) are truly whisper quiet and do not use a filter. I let them soak in vinegar water every few days to keep them clean. I would recommend this product to anyone!!
cute, seems to work, but a PAIN to fill January 2, 2009 There seems to be a lot of people who've had very bad luck with these humidifiers. I've had the frog for about 2 months and the penguin about a week; so far so good as far as function is concerned. But my complaint with both humidifiers is the difficulty in filling them. Their shape, though cute, is very awkward to fill. The frog is somewhat easier in that I can fill him at the bathroom sink faucet and sort of rest him on his head while I screw the filter/cap back in. The penguin, being "taller", is filled under the tub spout. I'm leaning over trying to manage a cold wet slippery penguin body while trying to get that filter cap in. Ugh! I can see how they fall and break.
Playful Frogs January 1, 2009 I purchased two frog humidifiers two years ago and I love them! The frogs are easy to fill, quiet and cute. (Unlike those ugly brown/white units that take up a lot of floor space.) The mist comes out of the top of his eyes. My skin appreciates the moisture the frog gives the room.
For some reason, I decided I needed to get a large humidifier. After researching larger models on-line, I've decided to purchase more frogs or maybe a different animal this time.
From research, I've discovered that the larger models have a costly filter, are hard to fill becuase of weight, and are noisey.
When I sleep, I can't have white noise in the background-not even a fan. The frog in our bedroom is more than welcome because he is quiet and allows me to sleep.
I highly recommend frog to anyone who needs to get a humidifier. For the price it is worth the try.

. . . to every humidifier. I used this quite happily for a winter, always cleaning it and using distilled water. Great product and very quiet. Lately I've developed a horribly terrifying reaction that, at first, I did not attribute to the humidifier. Shortness of breath, fever, chest pain. After Googling for a while (and many doctor visits) I found exactly what was wrong; Humidifier Fever. Check it out and ask yourself if it is worth buying a humidifier.
