Well thought out and lives up to it's title (almost) September 27, 2008 This item was sent by safe-babies.net and I received an email from them prior to dispatch which was nice. The base unit is a neat and slim-line affair with a sleek built-in stand which can fold away into the sides.
You can set the base to `auto' mode where it will alternately display each input for a few seconds. The two other modes are a `manual' mode which lets you manually select which camera you want to see or a `scan' mode. In scan mode, the monitor goes to `sleep' until either camera detects movement or sound which causes the unit to beep, turns the monitor on and displays the appropriate camera input.
Sounds complicated but very intuitive to use - in fact I didn't have to read the manual to work out how to use this unit. There's a handy sensitivity control to adjust the amount of movement which will cause the unit to trigger.
The two cameras are very good even in near darkness thanks to the infra-red LED's. They can be stood on the bedside table or attached to the wall with the included accessories. The two cameras are handy for me because one is fixed in the playroom for my toddler and the other is freestanding in the bedroom for the baby.
It works at 900 MHz which avoids any problems with the common 2.4 GHz used by other gadgets such as wireless routers, cordless telephones etc but is not he most interference free range. I think upping the frequency to 1.8 MHz may improve things (hence the four stars). Overall, a well thought out, value for money unit with pretty good reception. I'm more than happy with it.
Pretty satisfied February 2, 2008 We are very happy with the quality of the video, and it does a very good job at switching properly between our two daughters' rooms when they move. BIG FAN of that feature.
Wish I had realized that it doesn't turn video on when there is just sound. So when in "Scan" mode and it's turned off, you won't hear your children until they move and make the video turn on. Granted, when children cry they usually move, but our newborn apparently didn't always move when she cried. And when it changes between rooms it makes a little "flipping" noise. (Not a terrible noise, but it's there.) We therefore now keep the monitor in "scan" mode with the volume completely off and we still use our normal sound monitors. But we LOVE being able to see the children in their rooms. Overall a recommendation!

I am very pleased with the gardian angel. I have had it for over a month now and the only dislike is that I wish the wall mount option had an off button. If using the base unit you can turn it off but if you decide to hang it on the wall, you have to unplug it to power down. I love the hand held monitor and the motion detection start up is very useful. Easy to use and when the kids grow up, I plan on using them for home security as they have TV RCA hookup options. Five stars from me.
An excellent two-camera baby monitor August 6, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Features are well thought out (sleep mode, scan mode, movement alert, dual volume control).
Screen view is excellent, even in dark.
Reception in the house is excellent but faded once outside.
Camera mounting options would be improved if they offered an optional clip.
Purchased third camera but it caused interference. Had to return.
A very good 2-camera unit.
Good and Bad August 1, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Good: I love the motion sensor. At night this monitor can be set on "Scan" The monitor will be dark and quiet untill the baby/child moves and then a "beep" will sound and the monitor will jump to life so you can roll over to check on baby. The more they move the more beeps you hear (the volume on the beep is adjustable). "Auto" setting moves from room to room about every 8-10 sec. and "manual" setting stays on that room untill you press the button to change rooms. You can hear and see the children on all settings if you choose. There are seperate volume buttons for the "beep" motion detector and the sound of the baby. Bad: The cord on the camera is too short and we had to use a extension cord which I do not like in a babies room! As with most wireless devices you will have some static or interference. This monitor has more than our previous monitor. The camera is not very adjustable to positon it on the bed/crib. It is mountable to the wall or can sit on it's base however not very adjustable on the base.
