Among the clusters of stars sprinkled across the ceiling are eight recognizable constellations. An included booklet maps out which area of Twilight Ladybug's shell the constellations are projected from, so stargazers will know where to look for them on the ceiling. In the center of the sky is Orion the hunter, most easily recognizable by the three stars that make up his belt. At the 11:00 position, both Draco the dragon and The Little Dipper can be spotted. The Little Dipper is more visible because the North Star, Polaris, highlights the end of its handle. The North Star used to be positioned within Draco but movement in the skies shifted it over to The Little Dipper over time. In the upper right side of the sky (and the ladybug's wings), is Canis Major (The Greater Dog), which hosts the brightest star in the sky, Sirius, at a point in the dog's neck. Right next to Canis Major is Cepheus, a little house with a pointed roof. In the lower right quadrant of the sky, Pegasus -- the winged horse -- is visible. He is easiest to find by locating the square that makes up the center of his body first. On the south side of the sky (between 6 and 7:00), viewers can see two stick figure people. These are Gemini, the twins. And, finally, the best known constellation -- The Big Dipper -- can be found at 9:00. This is really two constellations in one as The Big Dipper makes up the tail end of the constellation Ursa Major, the Big Bear.  Lifesaver for sleep deprived parents! November 23, 2008
Our 4 year old son used to wake up every night at 1 and 5, and couldn't go back to sleep unless one of us sat on his bed with him. He saw this turtle in a magazine and BEGGED to have it. I was skeptical, but his grandmother went ahead and got it. From the first night, he has stayed in his room the whole night! When he wakes up in the middle of the night, he turns on the comforting turtle's light, which can be changed to amber yellow, blue, or green. It works beautifully in my kids' small room, with a low celing, but I think it looks good in other bigger rooms we tried. My kids LOVE the stars; it really calms them. My husband and I think its so romantic, too! Added bonus is how the light shuts off automatically after 45 min. This product is a MUST if your kid is scared of the dark.

When my daughter was born, I searched high and low for this turtle, ignoring bad reviews on the internet. I wanted to see it myself, and finally found it at a kid's boutique when my daughter was a few months old.
True, no one has a tall dresser in the middle of a room, which would be the most desired place for this product to sit for it to work as intended. Still, it could be placed on a high book case and the stars will light up the wall and be faint on the ceiling. Green and blue lights work best. Amber can hardly be seen.
When the batteries went out, I bought some and discovered that the batteries that came with the turtle (included as a "TRY ME" advantage) had corroded. They really didn't last long, and I figured that was why. Needless to say, new batteries didn't help. I wrote the comany and was told if I could find my receipt, and provided the turtle wasn't more than 90 days old, they would be happy to send me a new one if I paid for shipping. I didn't have a reciept and the turtle was more than a few months old.
Point blank, if a company wants to market this as a high end child product, they should be more wary of customer complaints. Even with the weak lights and the bad reviews, I thought this was cute enough to be buying for every new baby out there. Now I will warn people against it. For the 30 dollar price tag, you'd be much better buying a glo-worm. My daughter's still works and she's thrown it and banged it against her crib. The "hand-painted" twilight turtle was never in her hands and thanks to the ridiculous company policy, she will never enjoy it.

I love this product and so does my 3 month old. He does better at night with a light on and this gives enought light to do the job. I love the stars and moon on the ceiling and think he does too

I have a 4 yr old who adores this item. he can turn it on if he wakes up during the night for comfort. It also shuts itself off in 30 minutes. I recently gave this as a gift to a 3 yr old and he would not put it down. It makes him look forward to bedtime. I would gladly recommend this to anyone.

Turtle is Great for the kids, just a little cheaper quality than I expected for the price. Plastic shell is kinda flimsy. Lights work well, and have two modes.
