I've tried to like it. December 2, 2008 I was excited about this stroller because it appeared to be a sturdy umbrella type with great options. I am a first time mom so a lot of purchases for baby are kind of made in the dark. I know it's just an umbrella stroller and what should I expect? . . . but I feel a review is necessary due to it's high cost and several issues I dislike. After purchasing it I wish I would have researched other small stroller options and here is why:
* 95% worthless sun shade. The shade is connected to the stroller body and extends only so far. Not very positionable and a bit frustrating for baby when the sun is high in the sky, or anywhere is the sky for that matter.
* I am 5'7", very average height and I have long arms. I have to push the stroller with my fingertips on long walks or else my arms start to ache and fall asleep.
* My son's head is always so scrunched in the stroller. I think it is the incline as well as the firm, flat back of the seat. There isn't the typical hammock like give of other umbrellas.
* The distance of the wheels from my feet as well as the distance apart is not so great. My feet kick the wheels quite often and cause a bit of stumbling.
* My husband is 6' and just can not comfortably push this stroller.
Here is what I do like about it:
* The stroller is easy to set up and collapse
* Sturdy, quality design. I think the materials are well made and pretty good quality.
* The front wheels lock in straight static position or unlock for easy turning.
* The stroller breaks work good.
* The 5 point harness is awesome. Not to tight, not to loose around the neck.
* The basket may be small, but I can sure stuff a lot in it.
* It looks nice. It also matches my Chicco KeyFit 30 Infant Car Seat - Adventure. Funny thing, the sun shade on the car seat isn't worth much either.
I know my list of likes is bigger than dislikes, but the sunshade and wheel stumbling are big downers to me. It's personal preference and if those things don't bother you so much then this stroller will probably work fine for you. I do feel that it is about $20 to expensive.
Great Umbrella Travel Stroller November 24, 2008 I really love this umbrella stroller, I will recommend this product to my friends. I want to buy my sister one of this stroller when se gets pregnant ans shipped overseas. I had a great time walking all over my neighborhood in the Dominican Republic during my vacation. Thumbs Up to Chicco!!!!
Perfect for traveling and quick trips! November 23, 2008 We bought this stroller for a recent trip to Cancun and it was just perfect! We didn't want to bring anything expensive that could get damaged or lost but we wanted something nicer than just a cheap-o umbrella stroller. It is so easy to collapse and unfold, maneuvers great, is very lightweight, reclines slightly, is comfortable for baby, looks good and even comes with a little travel bag. My baby seems very comfortable in this stroller. He fell asleep in it a few time on our trip and has since on our evening walks and he has never fallen asleep in his big travel system stroller. I was able to recline the seat with him still in it without waking him up or bring it back up. It doesn't lay all the way down (probably reclines about 3 or 4 inches) but it is perfectly comfy for a little snooze. It is so easy to use that I have started using it around town for errands and quick trips.
I was worried about some of the reviews of people staying their feet kicked the wheels or that it is too short. Honestly, I haven't had either of those problems. I am 5 ft 9 and my husband is 5 ft 10 and we are both comfortable pushing it. This isn't a stroller meant for a ten mile walk but it does it exactly what it is designed for.
Other things I like are that I can hang a full sized diaper bag on the handles and it stays there and doesn't cause the stroller to tip or anything. The brakes work well and it has a small basket underneath. The basket is not huge but it isn't supposed to be. You can fit a small purse, a couple of water bottles and a jacket under there. The only con for me was that I pinched my fingers in the seat buckles a couple of times until I got used to it. However, the buckles are very secure and covered so that baby can't get at them. Overall, I would highly recommend this stroller.
Great for travel, not long walks November 13, 2008 This is an excellent stroller for traveling, carrying and pushing around airports, and fitting into small spaces. However, my husband and I both tend to kick the wheels. If the handles were more adjustable (a bit longer, too), this would not be a problem. Unfortunately, the handles are riveted in place, so it wouldn't be a quick fix to extend them.
Great Little Stroller November 10, 2008 My husband and I got this stroller to replace the inexpensive umbrella stroller that we had for running in and out of stores. This stroller still has all of the benefits of an umbrella stroller, ie. it folds down and doesn't take up much room in our small car, but is much nicer to push and has a place to put a small diaper bag under the seat, our son also finds it to be much more comfortable to ride in. It's nice and sturdy, easy to operate, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice easily portable stroller.
