Un-rateable because I didn't use it March 26, 2008 0 out of 17 found this review helpful
Actually, I never even opened the box it came in, because my grand child ended up not coming for a visit, and now he doesn't even use the "crib tent" at home. I'm not happy with the fact that I was told I could not return this item. It's still in the original mailing box, never to be opened, and I'd like to return this for credit to my account.
Great deterrent for curious kitties February 22, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
So far so good, as the cats have inspected the installation for security flaws and have found none. Generally, the flexible mesh is not something they feel comfortable putting any weight on. The one time our 14 pounder got curious enough to climb onto the tent, his weight was held up just fine.
Overall, I think the design is good given the side panels that eliminate a potential access point and the ability to mount the tent without damaging the crib. It doesn't affect drop-side operation and can easily be strapped around a Leachco teething cover.
We had to specifically purchase a simpler crib (the Sorelle Rosa) to make sure we'd have the option of using a tent like this, and the tent means that mobiles can't be mounted. However, we have no intention of keeping the baby in the crib except for sleep time (i.e. we are not going to stimulate her in there anyways) and the musical part of a mobile we received can still be mounted on its own.
As a side note, you might want to consider using something like the Ultimate Crib Sheet since having a tent to contend with makes already difficult sheet changes even more challenging!
Perfect October 8, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I found this tent to be the perfect solution after my 22 month old figured out how to climb out of her crib. Not wanting to put her in a big girl bed yet (for many, many reasons), I searched for other solutions and found this crib tent. The directions on how to put it together were a little difficult because the pictures were so poor but once I got it up I was impressed with the quality and especially the design. It does exactly what I need it to and doesn't create any "new" problems as many problem solving products do. My daughter pretty much ignores the tent but thinks it is fun when I unzip it to get her out every morning. A bonus is that it also prevents my daughter from playing with the light switch on the wall next to her crib.
Necessary for pets, but poor construction September 16, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
We bought this for a newborn primarily to discourage the cats from climbing in the crib, and it appears to have worked for that purpose. But the tent itself seems poorly constructed and flimsy. I had to rip seams out of the velcro attachments in order to insert the bottom rails -- which were apparently manufactured in too wide a diameter. And even with only light use, a top seam is ripping out. We expect to have to replace this within another month or so. I'd buy an alternative if I could find one.
Fantastic! August 22, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
My husband told me that I absolutely had to review this. The crib tent has given us the peace of mind that we needed. Unfortunately, our 14 month old baby decided to crawl out of her crib in the middle of the night and we freaked out when we found her. We searched for an answer to our problem until we tried this product. It is absolutely fantastic. Not difficult to put together- maybe about a 10 minute job. If you have ever put a child's play tent together with expandable rods, then you know how easy it is. Thank you to the makers of this wonderful product.
