 Terrible Swing June 14, 2008

I received this swing as a gift and it worked great for the first week we had it. After the first week the swing just stopped swinging. I thought it was the batteries but replaced them and tested the old ones and they were fine. My daughter was only 12 pounds so that wasn't the problem either. I am now using it as a place for her to nap because I can't return it.

My husband and i saw this piece and i said this is the one. The price was awesome! It arrived in about 5 days. WOW! I like that it has matching pieces to purchase also. We not only purchased this swing but we also purchased the car seat and the high chair. Other members of the family purchased the stroller and pack n play. I would highly recommend this piece.

We got the swing when our baby was 3 weeks old and she loves it. The built-in head support works well and the swing appears to be very comfortable. The only problem we have had is with the mobile. It appears the mobile is operated by the motion of the swing causing the base of the mobile to strike the body of the swing, this makes the mobile go around. The problem with this is that it has made the mobile fall a couple of times. The arm holding the mobile doesn't snap into its base, it only slides in, so unless it is seated extremely firmly it has a tendency to work its way loose. Our daughter is only 1 week old, 7 lbs, but seems very comfortable in the swing. It fits well, has multiple recline angles, and adjustable head/body support and straps. Music is very relaxing, 10 classical tracks, nature sounds are ok. Tray has attachment points for toys, but not included. Haven't found website to purchase them either, Amazon does not offer as accessory. Took me about 30 minutes to assemble by myself. Directions not great. Buy recharchable D-cell batteries (x3). If you use it reguraly I could see the cost of contemporary batteries adding up.

My son weighs 22 pounds and loves to swing on his outside swing. I bought this for inside when the weather is bad. It seems sturdy and comfy. We all like the music it plays. The bird sounds are like static, but the music is nice! I recommend this - it is hard to find swings that hold up to 30 lbs.
